Just saw a pic of an awesome red 914 with a solid piece engine cover (never seen one!), instead of usual black grill. What are the ups & downs of this piece, and where could I find one???

That's insane unless it's a water-cooled engine conversion. These babies need air!!

I'd like to see the picture. Since I have a watercooled engine I've been thinking about doing this.

But to answer the question, the grill seems to be important for cooling. The factory GT cars had 100% grill engine lids. They needed the extra cooling capability. So unless its watercooled, its very important.
