And the positioning of the spacers? The parts diagrams seem to show them at the left/right edge of the windscreen (down low) - but it seems to me that the *effective* position would be the lower edge of the windscreen (spread apart reasonably)?
are you putting the chrome back on or going rubber gasket?

Chrome. Well, the PO rattle-canned it black, so I'm sanding it down and painting it black again. But it is the original metal trim.

I recognize the reference - but are you saying that it does not matter a lot where the spacers go?
