What is the big difference between 914-6 steering column and a 911 from the same year..??..And have anyone used a 911 in a conversin "-6 lokalike"..If so..any pictures..??

i wouldn't mind converting to a '70 911 steering column ...

Mine is from a '78 911. The car is a '70 914/4 converted to a six.

Saved from the crusher by Ed Locke: a 914/6 column from a '71!

The differences between the 911 and 914 are in the mounting pads, the clamshells (no cutout), the switches have shorter levers, the bezels for the ignition switches are different, and the special surround that doesn't match the contour of the clamshell. Note the stamping in the dash to accomodate the ignition switch.

As mentioned above, 911 columns can be easily modified to fit the 914 dash. There are threads here, somewhere. . . .ah, here's one of them:

. . .we were lucky on that one. You got the front and rear suspensions for yourself and the steering column, ignition switch, and wiper assembly for me. About the only thing of value that was remaining, IIRC, was the early rear bumper.
