Is this supposed to be a VIN on this parts car?
Anybody got carfax to determine what this belongs too ?

I thought carfax didn't track VIN numbers before 1981?

Edit: That VIN is from something newer, also you can see a seat and carpet in the pic with the VIN. The parts car just has a tire and a gas tank in the interior. I'm assuming he put the wrong pic in there.

That VIN is from a 1983 Porsche. Not sure of the model, but certainly not a 914.

That VIN is from a 1983 Porsche. Not sure of the model, but certainly not a 914.

CarFax says (if I read the VIN right):

Considering the seller is a European car dismantler, I'd also guess he inserted the wrong pic. Nonetheless, why don't you ask him instead of us fellow speculation-monkeys?

I did not notice that he was a dismantler -
I wasn't really paying attention of who the seller was...

Well I contacted the seller, and was Thanked for giving him a heads up -
He is now indicating wrong pic as a few of you suspected -

It looks correct now. vin is 4712903564.
