it is getting tougher and tougher to find good rubber for a 15 x225 or bigger tire....
i know i should go to a 16.......but i want the big round bulgy side wall look.....
but i want a good compound as well.....z rating would be preferable
but the supply seems to have dried right up....
is there no demand......
think of all the 80s cars that have to re-rim to find tires
how many guys would run a 15 on the road if there was more availibilty

i run 225/50 x 15 on the street. 7" rims. Nankang EX-500.

they are very good all around tires for the street ...

i don't know/understand how you'll get them to work on your narrow body car steve. the bulbous 'look' did not equate to a better handling car in my case. the going back to 195/60 from 205/50 on 5.5" rims made for a much more stable car.

oops, missed that part. the front shouldn't be much of a problem but the rear needs to be rolled quite a bit and the wheel offset has to be just perfect for them to fit on a narrowbody car ...

narrow body-sshmarrow body.....i am putting flares on gizmo.......
i have some cool old 7s and 8s bbs mahle rims that i would like to use as my first pick for a set of wheels
i know there are 225s but if 245s where available that is what i would choose for the rear.
but you say the side wall is to unstable on a wide 60 series tire...?
if so are these tires only suitable for old muscle cars that go "fast" for a Quarter mile....
the match i have been recommended is a 225 for the 8s and 205s for the 7s

7 & 8: go 225/50 front and 245/45 rear. that will get you a nice sidewall that isn't too low ...

or 205 front and 225 rear ...

....where the heck can i get a 245 tire period......and a matching 225 front.....
i don't think there are any out there.....
but perhaps they are...
i just don't want to have to open up the wallet for a set of fuch split rims.....
i am saving my moo-la for a 3.6 eater motor happy11.gif

My car on 205-50/15 with 15x7 fronts; 225-50/15 with 15x8 rears.

Here's some Dunlop's in 225 and 245 x 15 at Tirerack. Not much in the way of selection in the 245-50/15.

I am running 205/50's on 7" fronts and 225/50's on 8" rears on my flared car - and I think the front looks too small in the flair (diameter wise).

Has anyone run a 205/55? Any pics?

i bet you wish you get a 'do over' on the paint job timing. al blose found some tires for his 928 in about the same sizes you're looking for at discount tire. check the cross border phonebook if they're not in bc. wide bodying that pretty car of yours.... rolleyes.gif

That's what I run... 205/55 on 6x15 front and 225/50 on 7x15 rear. No flares, but works for me. The profile is hard to judge with the black wheels, but the diameter is the same front to back.
