i'm building a 2056 from a 2.0 case that didnt have the cam and gear with it when i got it. how do i check the backlash # (+3, -2 ect...)? i have a stock cam and gear, should i install that and check backlash? if so what exactly would i be looking for to get the usable #?

I believe Jake says it does not matter much for aftermarket. None of his cam gears are graded as such. Best to do a search on his website.

I put mine together with the original stuff, but I remember something about the assembly process. Its hazy so maybe someone knows exactly with the crank/cam assembly and bearings laying inside of one side of the case. When you rotate the crank backwards the cam should turn and not pop out.
