Should I use the big washer between the end of the steering rack and the new turbo tie-rod? The kit is generic for many applications, but I'm not sure about this washer - it's probably 1/4 thick.

Anyone have any first hand experience?

Yup. Between the tie rod and the rack.

You could tech screw them to your fender but Demick's way is better for your alignment.
