well, as expected, the PO's little accident damaged the door more than its worth...question is, are the doors different from year to year, is it just 70-74 and 75-76 are the same or are all years the same?
basic question but having trouble finding an answer
thanks

3 style of doors (2 for the USA).
70-73 (early) with the cable regulator. Lots of failures. No side impact protection.
73-76 Two types: One with (USA) and one without the side impact steel. Better scissor style regulator.
You should make sure your doors match. The later doors are much heavier (almost twice as heavy) but they're safer in a side impact and the window regulators are much better.
Hope that helps.

I think all 73's had scissor regulators. Mid 73 started impact beams. I have a early 73 built 10/72 with scissor regulators & no impact beams. You can tell by the way the door closes whether or not it has impact beams. Eric is correct the impact beam doors are almost twice as heavy.
