Ok i found that I dont remember were every wire goes, and when I rewired my 14 pin connector to my 6's harness years ago a few wires got shifted around and I cant locate my master copy of were everything goes.
Anyway, does the heater lever wire go the little console light ground to make it turn on when the handle is pulled back. Or does it go to the fans ground to turn the fan on. Or does it act as ground wire that runs into the circuit boards fan relay ground pin via the 14 pin connector confused24.gif .

heater blower get's 12V from relay board. ground from heater blower goes back into the harness and to the lever. lever grounds out wire, making heater blower turn.

the heater light in the console is always on when you turn on your lights. it's just so you know where your heater lever is at night ...

Thanks Andy, My deductive reasoning sort of kinda assumed that conclusion.
Thanks for clearing it up. I will continue on.

Are you sure, Aaahndy? If so, then it's an early-car versus late-car thing. By 73, the heater lever wire grounded the coil in the heater blower relay, switching it on and sending power to the heater blower fan. Running the full current for the blower through that little wire seems to me to be asking for trouble of the "magic smoke" kind...

wiring diagram in Haynes both early and late. One side of the switch to ground the other goes to pin 9 of the 14 pin plug by what seems to be labelled a grey/white wire. From there to pin 86 (coil) of the relay. Power for the fan comes from pin 14 by way of the 25 amp fuse on the relay board to the relay contacts. Fed to the fan by way of pin 11 of the 12 pin connector.

I think you mean green and white.

Andy is right, if you understand what he wrote as i do, he is saying the same thing as both of you. Power from board, ground to lever via relay in board and green white wire out of 14pin connector.
