I know I've seen some recommendations on books to buy for fuel injection reference for 914s, but for the life of me, I can't find where I've read it. It seems to me that there was one in particular that was regarded as being the best reference. Recommendations, please?

Thanks,

Jamie

Great! Thanks for the info.

Yeah the Bosch book is a little thin on DJET, Anders site really has a lot more info and much more specific to the 914. Also the factory manual has a lot of good info too.

The Bosch book is great if you just want to learn about FI and all its variations though.

then again, do you want a book on L-jet or D-jet?

THIS is the one you want. Long out of print, no isbn, it's occasionally available used. Google it.

"Volkswagen Fuel Injection Technical Manual", by Henry Elfrink

Here's one seller:

Buy the 4th edition (1972), if you can find it. The Cap'n

I have 3 or 4 really good factory FI manuals, both D-Jet and L-Jet, on my webpage here:

The guy, Neil, 1st choice in the link, there at Rennlist, is the 1st person I ever saw that shared his FI knowledge for the 914 long ago when 914 was co mingled in with all Porsche at The PorschePhiles. History. This was when Stan, the Sysop, got it all together. Dave Darling was his recommendation when I asked for 914 info.

Sorry to kick off subject a little, but 914 history is good to know.

Left a personal edit on my last post about you living in Ballwin.

EDIT:
WOW. THANKS FOR THE LINK JEFF.

Y'mean the Missouri Baking Company, in the Hill neighborhood? Embarrassed to say, I've always heard it was good, but have never stopped in. With a recommendation like that, I guess I'll have to do so.

The 'Complete Idiots Guide to Volkswagens" actually has some good D-jet FI content. I was able to diagnose a bad MPS with it waaaay back in the mid 70's.

Yes. That's it. On the Hill. Watch out for the mob, they don't appreciate anyone taking their kneaded dough. LOL Service is super too. Better in the AM . If I didn't live so far, I could be called "Round Man". Ladies behind the counter look as sweet as the pastries too. I'm an old fart, not a dirty old man, so I'll stop after saying that.

Hope you liked the FI links. Did I ever tell you where to find. the 914 CD manuals.... That is if I could remember the web page address in Europe they were on.
