Decided to install the AL rocker spacers in lieu of the spring but after installing the rockers they seem much tighter than the spring loaded rockers. Is this something to be concerned with? I am considering shaving down the spacer a hair to give a bit more play to the rocker. I installed the spacers on both sides of a head and one was fine and the other was tight. Reassembled and found same thing. Any recommendations?

The spacer and or shim needs to be fitted. I think this was addressed on the aircooled forum.

Mine are the same way but so far my "Mad wrenching skills" haven't run out of talent yet.
