Just got new inserts and prefer not to pipe wrench it
Where does the big plastic "washer" go?
BTW, I have coarse gland nuts that came with it that I don't need.

Go to Harbor Freight Tools and buy a strap wrench if you don't want to use a pipe wrench or big set of channel locks. The dust hat covers the gland nut anyway.
The plastic washer goes on the top of the shock body, on top of the gland nut, underneath the rubber bumper.
