I'm sure this has been asked before, but can't seem to find the answer anywhere so I thought I'd ask the experts here at 'World.

Will 15x6 911 cookie cutters ('72-'75) fit under a stock fendered 914 (with factory 5 bolt suspension) without any difficulties with sharp turns, caliper clearance, etc.?

Probably not a good idea to use anything wider than 205s on either. There may be a rub aft of the shock tower on the inner front fender when the steering wheel is turned to full lock. That usually only happens at very very slow speeds, so most of us feel it isn't an issue.

I have 944 15X7 cookies on my car. 205's are as wide as I can go. I stretched my passenger side rear fender about 1/2" the driver side fit. I have no rubbing issues even at full lock. The fronts are easier to fit wider wheels and tires than are the rears.

Dave Darling does bring up a valid point about the potential of the inside of the tire making contact with the inner front fenderwell at full lock. We ran into this with the track car 9X16 fuchs clones all the way around. Since it is only at full lock, it isn't an issue. I still want to try wider rubber (275's like some of the hopped up 944 Turbo cars that I chase).

I have the a set of 15x6 911 rims with 205 tires that I used on my 914 for a long time. No rolling of any fenders and no rubbing at full lock. The car was lowered also. I can't remember the part number on the wheels but thay were 911.???.???.??? for sure. I think that the 944 rims have a very slightly different offset.

i too ran 15x7 cookies with no issues. 205's on 7's may require a lip roll in the rear

Paint 'em overall flat black and they kinda have that "908" look...

Ok theres someone out there that say you can run 9inch wide 15s on the stock 914 rear finders with spacers.BS i have a 70 with 15x6 cookie cutters and race rubber Kumho 205-50-15 ..180lbs springs and 22mm torsion bars and they still rub at DEs when you load the suspention hard on long corners ....so theres just my take..my fuchs with 205-50-15 yokohama a032s dont rub at all. some tires are just wider then others even with the same size

Yes Kumho's are wide, and hoosiers tend to run wider still.

BTW, there are a lot of things that will keep even a set of 5.5s from fitting, crash damage, poor alignment large neg camber and lowered.

Truth is you won't know till you try.

Just an update .... purchased a pair of 15x6 cookies and ran them at a PCA DE event with Bridgestone AS960 195/60-15 Pole Position's with out any issue. Love the way the stock sixer feels with this combo. Can hardly wait to finish the track car!
