I am currently working with a source that can get us great deals on swaybars form Tarret.
How many people would be interested in buying a front 911/912/914/930 bar or a 911 rear bar...
depending on interested parties...i can get them for 400 or less. These normally sell for 475.00 thru their website.
please post your interest and how many you'd be interested in. I will post the specifics in a day or two depending on this thread.
Here is a link to the bar

Count me in! I will take a front bar for my 914.
I have just been waiting on money to transfer to my paypal account to order one. It would be great to save some $$$.
I just drilled the holes in the tub tonight for the mounting of the sway bar.

heres the email i got:
QUOTE
If you think you can get that many, you're more than welcome to go ahead and
make it happen. If you can get more than 10 orders (that's 10 fronts and/or
10 rears) I'd drop another $25 per bar sheerly due to volume. That'd be
$375/bar.
So:
less than 5 orders = $425
between 5-10 orders = $400
10+ orders = $375
Let me know if this works out for you guys, at $100 off for more than 10
orders that's a pretty deep discount and should invoke some orders. When
you have an idea of how many people are ready to ante up, I'll make some
sort of arrangment where everybody who wants to order can hook up directly
with me and we can make arrangements for payment and shipping.
I'd also be able to offer pricing on anything else they may be interested
from Tarett Engineering or Sander Engineering (torsion bars)
Have a happy new year and good luck with the 914 guys!

Hey Aaron,
I have to watch the /6 resto budget, but I was planning on buying a set of Mueller's Roller bearings front and rear. I haven't heard back from Mike yet, but I think Tarret is the only outlet at this point for them. Can you see if I can get a set of front and rears on this buy? Maybe it'll help the overall discount numbers too.

Highly interested. Was going to place an order today until I saw this post. How quickly will this be put together?
What kind of pricing can be had on the monoball strut mount? I need both.
Aaron Cox
Jan 6 2004, 04:29 PM
we can go as low as 350 on swaybars if we get some more interested people....
we can get monoballs for 400, 350 if we get 5 interested parties...

i'm watching with great interest; can't commit on 'parts' until i see pricing on the Bilsteins ... i like the Tarett droplinks but not their lever arms nor polymer in the pillow blocks. i haven't seen the tricko WEVO monoball upper, nor pricing on that. i need to research Smart's bars. i need torsion bars which opens the door on roller bearing A-Arm bushings; i'll need new ball joints with new struts, and Turbo tie rods if i've got those... GACK ! IT NEVER FRIGGEN' ENDS !!!
i might just wind up pulling the 19mm bar out of the /6, finding some way to uprate the lever arms, and go with that (and some Tarett droplinks :-) ...)
(and naturally, it is the rear suspension that is sagging a bit on one side, and i -really- can't afford to get into new control arms, monoball bearings, polymer torsion bar bushings, and the rest of it ...)

Rich,
SmartRacing uses bushings made of engineered plastic similar to the Tarett bars
I too like the lever arms better on the S-R bars, but unless one adjusts thier settings back and forth, the built-in calibration marks are not needed, IMHO

well darn on the pillow blocks, maybe i'll just use the monoball mounts i already have...
what i don't like about the Tarett bars is the square attachment. i much prefer the splined ends.

Rich,
I sold a front sway bar last year that had spherical bearings in the pillow blocks (cast aluminum and had the correct 3-bolt pattern)....very trick setup, they even had zerk fittings in them.....
No idea what brand, I posted pictures a while back but no one responded.
As to the square or spline......I would say the square fitting would fail first, but IMHO, the endlinks or the mounting tab on the a-arm would go before that union

I have another brand sway bar with square ends on my 911&914, both cars have lots of track miles on them and there are no issues with the square ends.
I need a heavier bar for my 911, lets get enough people on board and get these bars for $350 ( or less?
)

What you need to do is know who isinterested and who is serious
I'm "interested" in a lot of things, doesn't mean I'm buying them....do you have a cut off date yet?
I already have the Tarett bar and monoballs, nice stuff, only thing I don't like is the red, but that can easily be taken care off, LOL

Sheesh... hadn't looked at this thread in awhile.... interest is picking up.
Here is my count of interest in the
Sway Bar.... 12 people....
Within a week on the "serious interest" list, we should make a solid 10+ orders for other components.... ought to bring the price of the bars down to $350 at most.
