I absolutely hate fender antenna's. They look like such an after thought. Like the design team forgot about putting one on the car. Some genious popped in with a drill and stuck one on the front fender just before the big boss came in the stamp the cars approval. I'm not refering to our little car but all cars in general.
I bought a windsheild antenna kit several years ago but didn't really like the way it installed. It had clear tape that stuck it to the inside of the windsheild. I never used it and can't even find it now. I ended up hiding one under the hood by the gas tank.
Here's what I was thinking. If I knew what length and size wire was required to make a good FM antenna, I would mask off a very narrow strip around my back targa glass and super glue a fine wire to the glass. After the glue sets I would tint over the glas and wire.
Anyone ever make an antenna? What gauge and type of wire do I use?

I`m using a boat antenna,The hidden one. When I had the windshield out I ran it on the bottom where the glass & dash meets, the seal hides it.

you need to contact "norustscott" on PP BBS. he has some set up by the rear view mirror, not in the windshield, but close to what you want: not on the fender

I mounted a small electrified antenna inside the upper front winshield over the mirror I dont notice it and it works great, I picked it up at the local bumper to bumper cheap. It's less noticable than the angle from the photo.

Thanks for the link. I'm still going to try the wire on the glass. Looks like they refer to a 31" optimal length. I think I'll try a fine stainless or aluminum wire.

Find a 916 windshield as they have the FM wire embeded in the glass. Should be easy....haha famous last words.

I think that guy in Georgia has one. You distract him and I'll cut the windsheild out....
