Full Version: Is this a "correct" muffler?

Still a noob on the "details". but am swapping all incorrect parts back to stock.
Ive never used (or actually seen) a stock 1.7 muffler. this car came with a bursch.

Im a little confused by the image. looks like it exits on the pass-side.
but what do I know... that is why im posting here. biggrin.gif

so is this correct for a 72 1.7?

That's a muffler for a '72-74 49 state or ROW bus. It'll work fine if you don't have a rear valence, but the tail pipe will be on the right. The Cap'n

I need 8 & 9 on that diagram. Anybody got one? They're NLA everywhere (we've looked, even the Cap'n can't find one).

Look around in 411,142 VW stuff (ie theSamba.com). They used the same clamp.
