I must be going blind or something.. could be all this snow..

I did a search on this forum, pelican, and rennlist, and I can't find this info anywhere,
so will someone please post the weights of these wheels? Much obliged!

the original 4-lug Fuchs 2.0
Mahle (like Mahler or Wagner, but not so heavy)
and the flying Pedrini brothers..

and the Fuchs 16 x 6, too? smile.gif

now do a comparison between the heaviest and lightest tire you are considering...
tire weights vary by POUNDS. a few grams on wheels isn't really a factor IMO ...

i'm curious too - i'll risk a guess. ranked lightest->heaviest: Mahle, Pedrini, Fuchs.

the forged aluminum Fuchs is also the strongest ...

If ya step up to a set of these, expect 26lbs.per wheel alone
for an 18x8 & 28lbs.per wheel for a 18x10

So its approx-

Mahle 5-lug gas-burner (cast Magnesium)11 lbs
Fuchs 4 lug (forged aluminum) 12 lbs
Mahle 4 lug (cast aluminum) 15 lbs
Pedrini (cast aluminum) 17lbs

How much does a 5 lug Fuch weigh? (6x15)

5-bolt fuchs weigh more:

6x16" 911 fuchs 17
7x16" 911/951 fuchs 18
8x16" 911/951 fuchs 19
9x16" 911 fuchs 20

Steve Timmins has a bunch more wheel weights on his website: Instant G

>If ya step up

I wouldn't consider adding unnecessary unsprung weight a step up. I guess I'm just too much of a "function over form" kind of guy. I would always go with the smallest wheels that fit over the calipers as long as tire selection wasn't an issue. The smaller diameter will also have a lower polar moment of inertia and lower the car without screwing up the geometry.

Thank you, Geoff and Gary and everyone.

or as Steve Martin would say, "Mucho dinero!" smile.gif
