Has anyone removed the vinyl part of the horn center? Can they be taken out and replaced?
I think markb has done it to his 912 center. ask him. I think his looks good now.
Are you talking about an early 911/912 center?
The padded horn center on my '70/4 is a press fit (a loose one at that!)

It's glued . I replaced the european "VW" pad by a US "Porsche" one ... 
Yep, it is glued. You can push it out with your thumbs with gentle, steady pressure.
