I like to share with you these pictures of my Phone Dial wheels for all of those that think they should be used as boat anchors.
I had the lips machined and painted the centers with a semigloss.
As far as I am concerned these rims are strong and the best value rims out there, a set of 951 offset 7's and 8's x16 and if your lucky 9's can be had at times for a few hundred bucks.
I know because I have about 4 sets of them around here.
I have had many, many compliments on my rims in silver and this finish shown.

Those do look very nice. Are we taking nominations yet for our next car of the month?
I saw a set on a 928 about two months ago that IMHO really looked sharp on the car.

The early-offset, 16", 951 PD's are a great value. I wouldn't mind scoring a set for my small wheel collection.

Those look really good!!!
Though I've always thought phone dials were nice looking wheels.

How much do they weigh? Are they a good race wheel?

Very good race wheel i am told, not the lightest though.

As long as you like them that's all that matters. Right?

In all honesty, I like the look of my Fuchs better, but I really do like the Phoners.
They are very affordable, and i think they are worth way more than the 50 bucks each that you can find them for.

They look really good. I am rather partial to the Fuchs though
.
$50 a wheel? you can't beat that

I used to check all of the Craiglist sites with a special search engine, and bought them when they turned up, thats how i ended up with so many.

You know, because of your thread here they're gonna go up significantly in price...
I'm dreading the day I pay $55/wheel for phonedials
Not a bad wheel, affordable, strong and genuine Porsche. I'm more partial to cookie-cutters when it comes down to either-or.

I dont think Cookies come in 16" though.
And as long as there are those that dont appreciate them there will always be a bargain.
I saw some never used very rare lightweight magnesium phone dials which were on the factory 951 race built cars- 16 x 8"s and 16 x 9's on Ebay awhile back for sale starting at 3,500!

I've always liked PhoneDials.
Do they have a width that fit under stock fenders?

Personally, I love phone dials on 914s.
But I think they look like ass on 924, 944, and 928s.

Asshole
Actually I'm putting them on a 356 as soon as I finish the C2's for the 944

They would look cool on a 356, the round complimenting the cars roundness.

Hmmm....
His info is nonspecific.
There where two different styles of phonedials. One variation had more 3d features than the other. The other was the heaviest wheel Porsche had made.
All the pictures shown have 912 phonedials. The other style was found on 928s.

Phone dials listed 951( 944turbo) &
928 and they also came on some of the 911's but weren't specifically cast for them.
I have never seen anyone with them on a 912
The link shows it all very clear to me
