Hey guys, I've been wrestling with getting my 914 running again and i'm putting weber 40 IDF's from raby on it. the kit is going together fairly easily, the keeping the throttle cable stationary is going to be a challenge, but anyway, do I need velocity stacks on these? they never came with any. will they work without them?

I hope so! They came from him and it's a really complete kit, EXCEPT for there not being any velocity stacks.

The 40mm kits don't come with stacks.. Most applications won't benefit exteremely from their use with 40s in my experience..

Adding them **may** make a difference according to your combo.

To my knowledge no one sells a 40mm kit with stacks, because the new carbs don't come from Weber with stacks, the 44s and 48s DO come with these from the factory.
