I have 195/65s on 15 x 6 Fuchs now. Going to upgrade suspension next... keep 19mm front bar, go to 140lbs rear springs, probably Koni yellows, new bushings, turbo tie rod kit.

I'm going to make the suspension mods first and see how it drives. Then I'll need to decide about going up to 205 tires. Have some Qs...

Is the 6 inch rim wide enough for 205s or is this one of those deals where the 195s will work just as well? I'll use it for occassional autocross but don't want to upgrade rims, this is already costing me too much! Especially interested in hearing from anyone who went from 195/65s to 205/60s.

I like the tall tire vintage look and normal gearing but also want good handling. I'm a little worried that the 205/50s are going to look a little "skinny" and make the ride too firm for long drives up PCH. Anyone tried 205/50s vs. 205/60s?

Finally any clearance differences between 205/50s and 205/60s? Tire Rack says the 205/60s should fit better than the 195/65s I have now. 195/65s fit fine but the clearance at the rear fender lip is tight, I'm going to roll the fender lips for peace of mind.

I tried the archives but couldn't get all of these Qs answered. Hope to get some feeback. Thx.

I've got 205/50/15 on mine. The rears always rubbed a tiny bit on the inside at full compression.

I had 205/60-15's on my 15x6's. They were on my 911. I raced them extensively on the 15x6's as well... I tried them on my 914-6 and they rubbed on the passengers rear. They'll fit on the wheels no problem but "probably" not on the car. I say probably becaue every car is different. If you are open to rolling the fender lip in they should fit no problem.

I have no problems running 205x50's on 15x6 Fuchs on my car. Only when I went to the 15x7 Cookies did I have to roll the rear wheel wells.
