Sitting here organizing pics of the car I've been working on for the last 4 months. Thought some of you might like it. Neat little car.

1966 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale 1 of about 1500 made. I have lost a couple of pics but you can kinda see what the engine compartment looked like when we got it. I have stripped the engine bay, ALL suspension, the WHOLE underside, patched some previous half ass repairs and repainted all of it. I am pretty much done with it so now it goes back up from for the engine to be re-built then we put a wiring harness in it, then I get it back one more time to put in the new carpet and interior. Owner is going to drive it over the summer and bring it back next fall to strip and re-paint. Originally it was white, then red, then this purple twice. It will be going back this purple. Not at all original but I think of the 3 I have seen this color fits the car the best

They are gorgeous cars... (I can't imagine that purple paint is the original color though. Is it?)

I right clicked, held shift and noticed a bunch of stuff apparently got highlighted that I didn't want highlighted. headbang.gif headbang.gif headbang.gif

No Skip it was originaly White. The purple was a custom mix this guy had made to his desires rolleyes.gif

Eric, trust me I wish I had more pics. I really need to be a bit more computer savvy slap.gif

That's a beautiful car. Does the last picture show where you are now? Can you tell us about the engine? Thanks for the post. beerchug.gif

I am always really impressed wih the talent of the 914 community in this BBS. You are all an inspiration. I say this as I shake with fear of f_cking up a clutch job on my 914. Then I look at the stuff you guys are doing - WOW!!!

Yeah Eric the last pic was today. I put the wheels back on and it is now ready to go back to have the engine and wiring harness done. Engine is a 1600 c.c. just like the "typical" Alfas of that period had. Somewhere around 110-120 H.P I've been working on these things for about 3 years now and still don't know the ins and outs of them rolleyes.gif

Is there any way I can pull up ALL Jpegs on the computer no matter where they have gone? Or by holding the shift key have I completely gotten rid of them ? sad.gif WHy did I do that you ask.....because it keeps it from filling up my recycle bin........ will I continue to hold the shift key when deleting you ask......NO !
ericread
First, move all of the files in your recycle bin to a folder you name as "C:\tempdel"

Then, go to "My Computer" and right click on the "Local Disk C:". Select "Search". In the area titled "All or part of file Name" type in "*.jpg". Then click on the "Search" button.

Any files that end in "jpg" sill appear in your search results.

If you have any questions, PM me with a number. I'll be glad to call you to walk you through this process. I've got a lot of cell minutes I never seem to use...

agree.gif They can all be recovered as long as you haven't emptied you recycle bin. Go with what Eric said and you should be fine.

If all else fails, there are "un-delete" programs available. They'll search through the HD, looking to see what files are there. (When you "delete" a file, you don't actually erase it; you just tell the computer that space can be used again by anything else that needs disk space. So you can find files in the "empty" space on the drive.)

Dave is totally correct! A file is never erased, and that includes JPG files.

What happens is that the file is re-named such that unless you use a special program, you can't find them. The memory space is made available for over-writing.

The only way a file is destroyed is if it's written over.

This is also true with digital camera memory cards.

I had a friends wife format the memory card in his camera that had their new-born's photos showing the birth. Rather hard to replace. I took the card to my computer guy and he was able to retrieve most of them.

I've recovered many deleted files after the recycle bin has been emptied. I'm set up to do so w/my computer. If the traveling distance weren't so far, I'd offer to come over and give you a hand.

Oh, that car looks sweet, too! BTW.

Wonderful! Gorgeous car I hope you are enjoying the work on her. piratenanner.gif

NAH no POS GTV. THAT my friend is a GTA ! Basically the same as a GTV but with an aluminum body. 3rd one I will have done. First one was the first car I did when I went to this shop 3 years ago, second one was a "quicky" job. Owner didn't want it really nice because he is going to race it. Neat car with a neat history of factory deciet unsure.gif

1000 cars needed for homologation. Alfa had the inspectors come to the factory to sign off on the cars so they could continue with the program. Inspectors checked out and signed off on the first 500 cars. Company officials took them out to lunch. While out at lunch the employess moved all 500 cars from building A to building B. Upon returning from lunch the inspectors were taken to "the OTHER 500 cars" in building B. They checked out and passed those 500 cars. Alfa continued on having only built 500 av-943.gif
