My clutch is in good condition, but I have to press the clutch in almost all the way down before it starts to work. Somebody to me that it should kick in about an 1 inch down from top position.

i think you just have to tighten the bolts on the end of the cable were it connects to the clutch under the transmission


so if you can get the ass of the 914 high enough to crawl under, youll be able to see
and fix it

Be carefull not to over adjust it if the clutch is getting old! The clutch tub tends to break the welds if the clutch is over tightened!
