I ran into a woman at the Vino store today who asked about my car and did I know anyone who might want to buy a 74 2.0 with 75K on it....Orange and black....she said it was a California Special. Now, I bought a 2.0 in '74 and I got the S version (came with all the stuff that was free in 73...but I don't remember a Cal Special model or package...I figure it's either a 2.0 S or maybe an LE...that is the only other special one in 74 that I know of....soooo....maybe I'll have 2 pretty soon. Oh yeah, she's the original owner and its been in the garage for 12 years...she says virtually no rust.....we'll see. Can one of our historians remember anything about a Cal Special version????

Cool. Please keep us updated. These are my favorite stories.
Never heard of an orange and black "CA special". Could be what the dealer told her when he fit a set of Riviera mags and a big front air dam on the car.

Cal Special sounds exactly like a "dealer special" They would load it up with side moulding,Riv wheels and door edge guards, wheel lip moulding,A/C and etc.
Take a pic or two .

If it's a "California Special" it's probably coated in smog equipment.

Yes, both 15193 and 15197 are creamsicles also.
Now we need to get the other numbers for the database.
Good score!
