I seem to remember someone creating a thread on outside mirrors complete with pictures. I've looked but can't find it. Any clues?

I'm looking to replace my side mirror. The glass is starting to go and there is some corrosion in the chrome base. The car is a 71 six and I seem to remember someone doing a piece on the different types of side mirrors. Early vs. late. different angles and lengths of bases and posts etc, etc. The post had pictures of the various types of mirrors. Before I go shopping, I wanted to be somewhat knowledgeable if thats at all possible.
By the way, thanks for the mirror adjusting thread. Great post.
