Full Version: Painted sail panels, -- vinyl on top?

On original cars with painted sail panels, was the top of the "roll bar" also painted body color, or did it have a black vinyl cover applied?

If it was painted, was the chrome trim used along the edge? (below the side edges of the roof panel)

I agree, my 72 came factory that way.

But that leaves the question of if the chrome piece between the sail panel and the top is still retained.

It's that piece that, when the roof is installed, is visable on the top of the sail panel, below the edge of the roof.

IIRC, they all had the aluminum trim, regardless of vinyl or not.
