For a given model year, how is a California version 914 different than a 49-state version? Until the 1975-76 models I only know of a labelling difference. Do you know anything different?

I have reviewed all the info I have and know of no differences except labelling until the 1975 model years. I have checked published values on performance, emissions, equipment, safety specs, everything. The only differences between a 49-state and a California version 914 are as follows:

1970-73 1.7L
No difference

1973-74 2.0L
1973 USA and CA emissions requirement is 1.5% CO max
1974 USA and CA emissions requirement is 3.0% CO max
(these two engines and vehicles are identical, only their labelled emission reqs are different)

1974 1.8L
No difference

1975-76 1.8/2.0L
1976 49-state cars do not have EGR, catalytic converters and bumper pads (Maryland has bumper pads too)
1976 CA cars have EGR, catalytic converters and bumper pads
