Several weeks ago I adjusted my clutch cable. I tightened it a few turns.

Over the last few days, I have begun to notice that the pedal doesn't seem to be coming back to the top. There seems to be about 1/2" of extra travel left.

Yesterday, I loosened the adjustment a few turns and now it's really floppy. Lot's of play at the top of the pedal travel.

I will tighten it back again this morning before I head out, but I am concerned that this is a symptom of a larger problem. Am I looking at a clutch replacement in the near future?

probably a cable... Look @ the reversing wheel, are there any frayed cables?

How about @ the firewall (might have to loosen the adjuster WAY up)?

Other possibility (hope not) is the tube inside the tunnel is busted free... It's no fun to fix, but it is do-able.
