From a current ebay auction, what is mounted above the fan housing on this car, and what is mounted to the wall of the front trunk in front of the gas tank.

maybe a smog pump?

First is a stereo amp (notice the couregatted plastic wire loom used by all stereo lame-o's) and second is the air injection pump for smog engines.

POS single carb and a smog pump....must be a '76 vehicle (fuel pump location and smog pump)

AKAIK, only the '76 2.0 cars had the smog pump

The '75 and '76 cars (1.8 and 2.0) shared the same cr@ppy exhaust.

Actually, the thing mounted on the firewall is a powered subwoofer, a subwoofer with a built in amp. None of you guys can see the speaker under the grille? I can see it plain as day on my screen.

Cali 75 2.0's also had smog pump

So if you're driving around town, sitting in your front trunk, I bet the bass sounds....well, with that little sub it probably still sounds crappy.

did non-cali 75's also have the smog pump?

not sure. i 'thought' that there were some non smog-pumped 75's out there. or maybe just non-CAT....
