The 914 I inherited came without a brake light switch
the guy who had it before me had a button or something rigged so he could push that when he hit the brakes to make the brake lights come on
Does anyone know if I can just use any pressure switch I find or does it have to be the $80 vairety from Pelican Parts.com ...?

Furst off, it's not a pressure switch. It's a little lever type device located on the pedal cluster. I'm sure there are plenty laying around in peoples stashes, and someone here might sell you one for a reasonable price. Be sure you mount it correctly, or it won't work. The Cap'n
