Just the last few weeks I remember reading about someone needing a vast amount of torque on a bolt, nut or something... a thread had a calculation regarding the use of a bar + body weight & distance the hands were to be placed from the pivoting point to give the correct amount of torque.
Anyone know the post I'm speaking or is my ass sucking canal water rolleyes.gif

Easy. Torque = force * distance

So if you need 240ft*lbs for the rear axle nut, and you weigh 180 lbs, then you need to stand (not bounce) on the breaker bar 240/180=1.333 feet = 16 inches from the pivot point (center of the socket). This assumes that you are standing perpendicular to the breaker bar (breaker bar is parallel to the ground).
