I'm redoing my door panels, and need to replace the 1/8th" thick open-cell foam that's in pieces and can't find anyone that sells anything smaller than 1/2" thick in the open-cell stuff.

I could probably use the 1/2" thick stuff, but it seemed a little too thick and I don't want my doors to look 'puffy'. blink.gif
Does anyone have a source for the 1/8" stuff, or have you used the 1/2" and it worked ok?

what about headliner foam they sell at the fabric stores??

I've checked 2 foam stores and 1 fabric store, and can only find 1/8" in closed cell foam (think flexible egg carton) or 1/2" in the open cell variety. Both foam shops said that 1/8" foam would be hard or impossible to find due to the waste in material when cutting foam so thin. This seems suspect to me, but what do I know.

You can get 3/8 sheet foam from here.

I have seen the headliner foam in all of the fabric stores i have been in. When stapling the back use these. Duo-Fast Staples :: 5000 Series 1/2" Crown 20 Gauge Staples :: 5006C - 3/16"

Perfect! Found the foam at the fabric store, just as stated here. Thanks for the tip on the staples too!
