The winds where I live have been a JOKE lately! Tonight while I was doing some tuning on the freeway, there was probably 30+ MPH cross winds.

The CH temps shot up to 377*, this isn't the first time I've seen this.

IMHO, It seems as the cross winds hit the car, it actually pulls air out of the engine compartment. Since the area behind the back window is a low pressure area it could easily be affected and disrupted by this. confused24.gif

The cross wind may pull a tad of air from the bay, or disturb the air entering the bay, BUT neither of those are as negative for the temps than the added load that the wind is creating as it gusts against the car.. You feel a cross wind, the car feels a head wind....

On my cross country trip I saw 40+ MPH head winds in Nebraska, my data logged CHT increased as muc as 50 degrees...
