I need info on the use of Yokohama A005 205 590 15 rubber. I think thay are one time race rubber for like the ALM series, Or can I use them for about 4-5 AX or track events?

Also looking for what size rim I need to mount them on. It looks as if a 8x15 inch will work but a 9 inch I think being best.
Any input would be great.

a 205/50/15 tire fits best on a 7, IMO, an 8 would stretch the sidewall out a bit, and a 9 would be way too wide.

Thanks for the help But the problem is that the size is 205 590 15. Thats a odd number and I am not sure if it will fit my 8x15's?

For width, the 205 number is the relevant number. 590 is the height (diameter) of the tire and doesn't relate to the width. I agree that the 205 is likely a bit narrow (but possibly not too bad) for an 8" wheel. However, the widths do vary between manufacturers (ie: a 205 Hoosier tends to be wider than Khumos and Advans). The best thing you can do is try contacting Yokohama or Tire Rack and get recommended wheel widths for that particular series of tire.

look them up online and see what size rims Yokohama recommends for those tires.

they usually give you a range, minimum width to maximum width ...

Racing slicks are measured in overall diameter, not aspect ratio like street tires.

590-(15*25.4)/2=104.5mm sidewall height.

104.5/205=.51

So, this is equivalent to a 205/50/15 street tire.

Tryed to find it on Yoks site Thay do not show 590 in racing or street tires.

Thanks that is what I think I need. But I really think something is wrong here the tire looks better fitted for a 8+ inch rim. I think I am going to take a 15X8 rim down to the shop and see if thay will mount it for me Its brand new so I can only ask.

those tire are probabley not D.O.T approved you will have a hard time finding info on them?? ......good luck

Thanks Andy thats as far as I already got last night No info. But I did Yahoo the size and thats why I think its for a 8-9 inch rim.
