With the 914 on the lift I'm using an infrared thermometer and hitting the HE's at each hole just about 2" from the head. What should the temperature of a stainless steel exhaust pipe be at this distance? We're bound to get lots of guesses, but does anyone have a somewhat accurate answer? Or better yet actually done the same temp measurement that I'm doing? Barring that, what would an egt temp be and at what location in the exhaust?

On a T4 do not exceed 1250 for extended periods and most specifically while under load. You will toast the valve job on the ex. seats. Seen it many, many, many times!

It's not the absolute best for power, but keeping under 1200 is safe.

I finally got my carbs sync'd! All I had to do was tighten *all* of the intake manifold nuts that I left undone. What a tard!
