My poor 914 has taken a devastating toll from rust. I just recently found out that the swing arm is rusted through both the arm itself and where it connects to the frame. Where it connects to the frame is also cracked. Please help. What should i do?
Pics coming.
Sorta like this?
http://autoatlanta.com/service/restore-6.htmlThey have repair parts too, bt it is going to take a competent welder, and probably engine removal- neither of which is foreign to the residents of 914World.

The swing arm is easy to replace. Unbolt it and bolt in a new one, and get the car aligned.
The ear to the frame is harder. Buy a replacement unit (I think AA has them). Drill out the spot welds holding on yours and remove the bad unit. Weld in the replacement part. Not to bad, really.

Mmmm, tasty looking TC. Now that I actually know kinda how to
do it, that looks like an interesting repair.
I replaced my inner rear suspension console on my car. The hardest part
is getting all the spot welds drilled out and getting the old one off.
Read some of the classic restoration threads, especially "Digging into

Maybe a board member lives nearby that can help you out.
