can anyone help.
914 starts right up takes gas and runs for about a minute or two, then cuts off and won't start right back up have to stop trying for about 10 minutes and same thing all over again.

1. Check for pinched fuel line, especially suction.
2. Check for clogged fuel filter

Sounds like float bowls are filling, but not being refilled when engine is run.

i thank thats the problem. I checked float bowl and it was full after runnining the engine the appeared to be empty. does the float bowl need adjusting or do you think i have to change them.

If they fill when not running and then run empty when you start the engine, there is a restriction in the fuel delivery.

The floats do need to be set for float bowl level.

As the engine is running, the fuel pump should keep the float bowls full or near full. You need to check all your lines and the pump itself.

jack engle and i pulled his tank today. same symptoms. shitey fuel screen in the tank.

where is it located? do you have to pull the tank out or can you get it some other way.

it's on the outlet tube inside the tank. i can't imagine getting to the screen with the tank in the car. it's a good opportunity to clean your tank, the well area under the tank, and renew your fuel lines. hopefully your car isn't full of fuel.

Pretty sure you "can" but man... it's a pain. If I recall it's;

Suspension pan off.
Reach through the access hole.
All by feel with gasoline running down your arm.

Try the easy stuff first and work your way to the tank. Fuel filter? Bent lines or other obstructions?

guys i've ordered the fuel line strainer, Gas tank Repair/Resealer, and Fuel lines under the tank. i'll try and do all the work over the weekend and let your know how i made out.

How did your strainer look? Or have you got to it yet? It took me while to do mine as I had difficulty getting the seals for the tank fittings.
