Can I attach a stock '70 D-Jet FI system and exhaust onto a 2.0 motor? Will it work, or am I be setting myself up for a large number of headaches? Not interested in carbs.

Background: I found a '73 2.0 with original FI minus the MPS. It's missing. It has low miles on it, needs to be cleaned and have all the hoses replaced. Plus my stock 1.7 is in dire need of a rebuild. I figure it may be a good route to buy this 2.0. The big sticking point is the missing MPS.

Thanks,
Nate

Use the intake runners and all the rest from the 2.0 liter.
Send your 1.7 MPS to Geoff Bleyseng (look him up here) and he can recalibrate it to work for the 2.0 liter.

Use the 2.0 liter ECU, and all the rest.
Exhaust will fit on any motor, so what you have that is not rusted will fit.
You have to stick with 1.7/1.8, or 2.0 liter from the heads all the way back...all the pieces are different, but as a whole system they fit on any motor.

Thanks Rich. That was very helpful.
