Does the bolt that holds on the roller do anything else?
Can I just put a bolt in the hole to plug it after I remove the roller?

if your refering to the one in the case, i've heard you'll have a oil leak with out it in.
If you don't have a bolt in the hole, then you will have a major oil leak.
