Yesterday I drove to Charlotte, NC to take in the PCA Parade Concours. YERY nice exhibit on main St in downtown Charlotte. The City closed about 6 blocks and the side streets were reserved for Guest parking, 356s, 914s, older 911s, Boxters, 928/944s . I'm sure others will post all the pictures you want. I tried to see what kind of gas mileage I could get from my 912E with a 2056. Going up to Charlotte on the interstate and a couple of trips through the city= 28 MPG. I was shooting for 30 but the 912E is fitted with 50 series tires and at highway speed the rpm is between 2900 and 3200 for speeds of 60 to 70. For those of you who know about the speedometer on that model ...it is about 10% high. With the 50 tires mine is 12% high. 80 MPH indicated is really 70. I calculated the 12% in my MPG number. I've got 40MM Webers , a Mallory dist and a Bursch. One thing is cool though, the 912E has a 20 Gal gas tank like the 911. You can go a long way between fill-ups.
Umm, you drove to Charlotte to view the concours, right?
Are you going to say something about the concours?
Who won?
