i think someone decided that if you could drown in it, it's a lake. so any body of water deeper than 3" is considered a lake.

hey z, it looked like i needed to translate. not for you, but everyone else! the poll was 2-2 when i added it, and it's gone 11-1 since.

I'm not a native German speaker, and it's been over 20 years since my last German class, but I read it as "sky cool." I could be mistaken though.

I dont think we count ponds as they do in other states. We have plenty of wetlands swamps and sloughs that dont add into the mix. Drive a mile or so in any direction up here and you can launch a boat and wet a line.

I believe Florida is the only state with more lakes.
