Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I'm planning on converting my car to Boxster calipers front & rear (already have them) and I am wondering if I will need a larger master cylinder. The car has flares with 255s & 245s on 16s and I have a 19 mm MC.

I'm ok with a firm brake pedal and I am thinking of putting a 23 mm MC in, but I wonder if it will be too much.

Is there anyone out there with some first-hand experience?

Thanks,

Jim

I have heard from several people with bigger brakes than boxster calipers and are happy to run the 19mm MC, some have had 23's and went back to a 19 for better modulation.

Thanks! That's the kind of info I was looking for.

Installing the 23 mm (actually a Mercedes Benz master) will require denting the suspension cross beam for clearance.

I have the boxster brakes on my 914 with the same size tires you are planning on running. I use a 23mm master cylinder, and I like the pedal feel better than I did when I had the 944 turbo brakes.

yes. we just converted Tom's 911 racecar to boxster brakes front and rear.

we used the 23mm MC and it works great with the brakes! very good pedal feel and prompt and plenty of stoppage ...
