Do they all come with these weird spiral retaining rings?

I was expecting circlips.

Yeah, mine did. Not sure I like them. I hear they're really hard to get out.

Yep....... Hard to install but hell to come out!

Good luck man. My fingers still hurt from doing mine a few months ago. It took me forever to figure out that you need to "unspiral" the thing and thread it in.

And no, they'll never come out.

Did you have them balanced yet?

Not yet. I'm not sure who to take them to yet. Ideally I'd like to get everything balanced together once I am ready. I still need to get the cyls bored, rods and crank done, case checked out, etc. I still have a lot to do.

Use a denist's pick and a set of jewler's pliers to stretch it out and then use the pick to push them into the ridge.

And yes, they DO come out, almost easier than going in once you get the hang of it.

Don't ask why I had to take them out.
