I'd say it's worthless unless you open it up to see what gears are inside. Could be value in it but could be a better achor.

My guess it is a stock early 914-4 transmission!!!
If there was a clearer picture you might be able to tell.
It could be the two year only ('70 - '71) 911/901 box converted to use in a 914. This conversion allows you to use the stock 225 mm "pull" clutch instead of the 215 mm 914/6 clutch. It would also give you more compatible gearing for a six cylinder engine.

Ron, you are right, but that box is NOT a 70/71 tranny with a 914 tail housing. If it was, it wouldn't have the clutch cable pulley on it.

I agree Clay .... I thought I saw the clutch pulley, but as you realize I am old and everything is failing which is why I asked for a non-ahandieze photo .... Hell, I'm even shrinking ... in height ....
Like the throttle cable bracket visible in the picture, a clutch cable pulley assembly can be bolted to any 901 derivative. Remove the 2 nuts, slap the plate onto the diff cover, and put the nuts back on. My old eyes, or maybe the size and poor quality of the picture, prevent me from seeing how the throttle bell crank is attached to the intermediate plate. As for his comment that it came from a 916 clone, how does he know? After all, it's not a 916 tranny .................

sure looks like a real /6 transmission to me,/6 had the same transmission housing then the 70/71 or 911/01 transmissions
Ummmmmmmm, the '70'-'71 trannies were "911" The '69 was the last generation "901". The 914 case is more like the "901" than the "911", because the pivot ball is located in the same spot as the "901", and the pivot was relocated on the "911".
