Went to start my engine after installing it, it did not start and i saw smoke coming out of the distributor, I took cap off and noticed the electronic conversion pieces smoking!
Anyone ever do this?

I've had a couple of peronix flame out on me. I went to the crane x2000 optic pickup. It hasn't even had a hicup yet.

yup. on an old mustang w/ an accel distributor. when installing the cap my son cought the spring loaded carbon center tip with the rotor. it snapped off and floated around inside for awhile. it eventually shorted the modual. AAA loves us

Wiring them up backwards will fry them. Usually they don't smoke though....
