I haven't driven my 74 2.0 since last October when an idiot mechanic screwed up my fuel distribution system (kinked the fuel line while replacing fuel pump, and forgot to replace fuel filter!!!!!)

I am waiting to install a new MPS ( the old one has a slight vacuum leak that allows the idle to run too high-1300 )

Am I safe to drive a little with the idle this high?

You should be able to adjust the idle at the throttle body with the idle screw anyway. If you don't want to do that 1300 won't hurt anything until you get a new MPS. If you elect to tun at 1300 then watch the temp!

Thanks, the vacuum leak seems to be enough that the idle won't adjust down.
Maybe I'll try not to sit at too many stop lights!!!
