Has anyone heard of RHD 914s?

I am pretty sure the car was sold in England but I have never heard of or seen a RHD 914.

I've seen the RHD 911s and such, but never a 914.

Just wondering as it would be a very unique car.

And this brings uo the question - "how did they do it?" Were the conversions clean?

We all know that it was done, but what did the conversion look like? How tidy was it?

I've searched for pictures and found nothing so far.

The easy stuff is the steering wheel move, and the hard part would be a new dash moldings, etc.

Has anyone seen one?

Crayford did the conversions. The cars pop up for sale in OZ from time to time. Here are a few pics I have of one car, I have few more of another car:

Crayford was the only factory that offered RHD conversions - for a huge amount of money

but there are also a couple of Cars that were "do-it-yourself" converted

here are some pics from a 914-6 that was converted by his owner from Ireland

Thanks, this is fascinating.

What is the level in front of the Gear shift, I would assume a hand throttle?

Great info,

Interesting that wipers positioninig was swapped also on this car. Makes perfect sense.

there are two of these sixs down here both brought in for assessment by the australian distributor (porsche cars australia). one of them was definitely converted to right hand drive here in the distributors workshop. the other one is a bit of a mystery.

the two cars and their conversions are quite different in detail.

i was there the day brian clearihan picked it up from the farm at seymour.
it had been in the hands of a. hamilton since the 70s, he had kept it.
its a very different 914. as noted in the text.
a hamilton could get things from the factory no one else could obtain.
