As every yeat I visited the Oldtimer Fair in Salzburg. That's the biggest one in the west of Austria. This year's special topic was "60 years Porsche" - so I hoped that it would be a cool event.

1st hall showed pretty much bling-bling cars drooley.gif

the one and only prototype car of a Maserati Kyalami 4.9 Spyder

yepp - it was an original rust free CA car that was imported to Austria more than 10 years ago
had a damage on the passenger's front end and got a ground up restoration

I was intrigued by this too so I went searching. There's a small mention on the German 914 owners cub site, but it doesn't appear to go into any detail, although my German isn't so good these days (I only remember carburettor, brake fluid, wiper blade and beer....).

Here are the links I found:

Where in Salzburg was this? We were just there a few weeks ago. Many of the Porsches look like the vehicles from the museum in Stuttgart.

You would hope that for that kind of money that they could at least manage to fit the licence plate on straight! biggrin.gif

Seriously though, those are some beautiful cars. Many thanks for the pictures.

Alastair.

it's every year at the same place - the Messezentrum Salzburg / salzburg arena

it's in the north of Salzburg and has a seperate exit at the Autobahn

more infos here

most of the diplayed Porsche cars are from private owners from Austria and Germany

Really? 7 hrs? I'm surprised. I thought in Austria you would be closer.
Google maps tells me it's only 8 hrs 33 min from my house - and I live 2 hrs north of London.
I guess Europe is bigger than I thought!

Not sure if I'll be there yet. I'd love to go as I missed out on this years 914 International in Switzerland, due to business commitments. However my 914 is currently off the road awaiting some spare time - and spare cash.
Currently I'm short on both counts! sad.gif

Thanks for the pictures of Stirling Moss' 904. And the 3.0CSL- two of the sexiest cars ever to to put rubber to tarmac. I sometimes pass a 3.0CS slowly rotting away in a field near where I live and it's a sad end for so beautiful a car. Has anyone ever seen/got a picture of Stirling Moss and that 904? He was an idol of mine when I was a kid and I got to meet him at Lime Rock. Of course, he turned out to be a very neat guy.
