Does anyone know what the range is on the fuel sender.
I run out of gas before the gauge shows empty. Trying to
figure out if it is the gauge or the sender. Probably the sender
but if anyone knows the resistance values I would appreciate
that information.

I measured mine, and as I recall I got about 35 ohms when the gauge read "E", and about 10-15 ohms when it read "4/4".

If you're motivated, you can unplug the sender and swap in a potentiometer. Dial the resistance up and down (with the ignition on) and see how the gauge reacts.

0-90 ohms, forget which was E of F.
You probably have dirty wires keeping the slider from sliding all the way. When you take it out to clean it you will understand.
It should slide freely. Test it by turning it upside down and right side up.

Thanks for the information guys. Gonna tear into it this
weekend. Hate wondering how much fuel I really have.
Dave_Darling
Less resistance == more fuel. More resistance == less fuel.
