I lowered my car, perhaps too much, and my measurements reveal a height of 45 1/2" from the ground to the highest point of the roof. I took a 6' level and rested it on the roof...leveled it and measured from the floor up to the bottom of the level. By eye it looked like 44"...but the level doesn't lie. What are some measurements from other 914 owners? My car is a 76 with stock wheels & tires. My V-8 car is an inch taller due to the 18" wheels & tires.

Hey Todd, I didn't ask how tall you are...I'm asking about your car.
You actually look a bit taller than 58".

measure from the floor to the fender lip on the front...22.5-24.75 (depends upon my mood and the tires)
From there, measure from the bottom of the long at the front and at the rear ...front is 1/4 lower than the rear in the summer for autox...and in the winter for traction front is 3/8 higher than the rear..

I would have to say that some of the race cars have an advantage as they can get closer to the snubers in the front without interferring with the suspention.
Measure it at the top of the targa bar and see if anyone can best Mr Woodberry.

Just measured 41 1/2" to the top of the roll cage. 40 1/2" to the top of the targa bar. The pinch weld on the long is 2 1/2" off the ground.

I'm betting that when done, Rich's car will be. If he goes with the " hood ride " stance along with all the chopping he's doing to the body he will have one low mofo

I am honestly considering bags.....
Just cause when you park....you can drop it.
Not sure how bags would do at an autox though....

you guys are going about this wrong
you need to chop the top and rake the windshield to win this competition:
better yet, how about the windshield on the orange car?
